If you run a Star Wars podcast, a YouTube channel, a fan film, a convention panel, a Twitch stream, or a radio show, you have our permission to use The Han Solo Project’s music. You don’t need to email us first. You don’t need to sign anything. There’s no fee.

It won’t get you claimed

This is the part that matters if you publish on YouTube. Every song we have ever written is original — our compositions, our recordings, not one note of John Williams anywhere in any of it. That was deliberate.

Use the actual Star Wars score and you are risking a Content ID claim. In 2019 a fan film with more than thirty million views got claimed by Disney’s publisher over a short cover of the Imperial March, and Lucasfilm had to step in personally to get it released. Our music sounds like this universe and carries none of that risk. Ten years, five albums, zero claims, zero cease-and-desist letters.

The credit

Say the song title and the band name, and link back here if your format has show notes or a description. Copy this and swap the title:

That’s the whole deal. Intro music, outro music, bed music under a segment, a full song in an episode — all fine.

Tell us what you need

This is the fastest route, and it is the one we would rather you took. An instrumental version to talk over. A track cut to fifteen or thirty seconds for a bumper. A bed that loops under a segment without ending awkwardly. A sting for the top of your show.

Ask and we will make it. Same day, usually. It costs nothing and honestly we enjoy it more than you would expect.

Our records are on Bandcamp. Download from there rather than ripping audio from a streaming service — rips sound bad and they confuse platform content matching, which is the thing we are trying to help you avoid.

Two honest caveats

We can only give away what’s ours. These are our original songs and our recordings, so those are ours to share. Star Wars itself belongs to Lucasfilm and Disney, and nothing on this page grants you any rights to their property — including John Williams’ score, which is not ours and never will be.

Ask before you sell it. Free use covers podcasts, videos, streams, fan projects, and events. If you want a song in something commercial — an ad, a product, something with a media budget — talk to us first. We’re not precious about it. We just want to know.
